Sooke is located one hour from the Victoria International Airport and one hour and ten minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, on the west Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Population from East Sooke to Port Renfrew is approximately 12,000. The region of Sooke Harbour takes its name from the T'Sou-ke native people, the first inhabitants of the area. The area's traditional industries have been logging and fishing. Today, tourism has become an important factor in the economy of the region, as increasing numbers of visitors from all over the world discover the south-west beaches and many hiking trails. Sooke offers a number of wonderful Bed & Breakfasts, some of them world renowned. The beaches from Sooke Harbour through the 74 kilometers of coastline road, to Port Renfrew, offer a range or spectacular views.
