About the Sooke Region
Sooke is located one hour from the Victoria International Airport and one hour and ten minutes from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, on the west Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Population from East Sooke to Port Renfrew is approximately 12,000.
Salmon and halibut fishing, bird watching, cycling, surfing, kayaking and whale watching are just a few of the many interests of the locals and visitors alike.
With it's slower pace and moderate climate, Sooke is home to a thriving art community. Many home-made crafts are sold throughout the area. The Fine Arts show showcases the artists of the area in a 10 day exhibit of amazing talent held annually. Check the Sooke Region Museum web site for more events happening in the area.
The start of the "
West Coast Trail" is only 1 1/2 hours away, in Port Renfrew.
You are invited to share our serenity and scenery - in a Sooke experience. Come for the day, a week or make it your home.
